A genuine invitation and healthy bank statement can still be wasted by an inaccurate online form. The Chinese Visa Centre’s current notes warn that untrue, incomplete or inaccurate information can result in return or rejection and legal consequences.
The safest method is to prepare all data before opening the portal and then conduct a document-to-form audit before pressing Submit.
Section 1: Personal information
Names must match the passport exactly
Use the surname and given names as printed. Do not add “Mr,” tribal titles, professional titles or a nickname. Do not rearrange names based on everyday usage.
Passport number must be exact
Confusing zero and letter O, one and letter I, or copying an old passport number is a common return reason.
Chinese name field
Only enter genuine Chinese characters if the applicant has a Chinese name. Do not type words meaning “Chinese” or random characters.
Previous nationality and Chinese nationality questions
Answer every mandatory question. Applicants who previously held Chinese nationality have additional disclosure and document requirements.
Photograph mistakes
Use a recent, clear, colour digital ID photograph with white background. Avoid:
- Selfies
- Beauty filters
- Cropped group photos
- Scanned old passport photos
- Shadows or overexposure
- Low-resolution WhatsApp files
- Head covering that obscures required facial features, except permitted religious use consistent with photo rules
If the uploaded photograph is marked unqualified, bring the required printed photo to the Centre.
Section 3: Work information
The current notes require work history for the past five years and complete position and duty fields.
Self-employed applicants
State the actual legal or trading business, role, address, dates and duties. “Businessman” alone is too vague. A stronger accurate entry is “Owner — online retail and import of lighting products; supplier selection, purchasing and sales management.”
Unemployed or retired applicants
Use the correct status and explain financial sponsorship and purpose honestly. Do not invent employment merely to look stronger.
Multiple roles
List the history in the requested chronological format without unexplained gaps.
Section 4: Education
Provide the highest completed degree, diploma or qualification and the major. Do not leave the major blank when the portal requires it. Use the name shown on the certificate where possible.
Section 5: Family information
The official notes emphasize complete addresses. The spouse-address field means the spouse’s current address, not birthplace.
Include:
- Street or locality
- City or district
- Province
- Country
Be consistent about marital status and family members across previous applications.
Section 6: Travel and inviter information
This is one of the most important sections for M visas.
Enter the organization, not only the contact person
For M, F, X and Z cases, the inviter field should contain the actual inviting organization or entity. If it is a company, use its exact legal name from the Chinese business licence.
Use a real contact number
The Visa Centre lists invalid inviter contact numbers as a reason files are returned. Confirm the number with the Chinese company.
Align dates and cities
The arrival date, departure date, hotels, Canton Fair phase and invitation must agree. If the trip includes Beijing, Guangzhou and Yiwu, do not list only Guangzhou without explaining the rest.
Source of expenses
Use the same sponsor shown by the bank evidence and invitation. If the Pakistani company pays, support that statement. If the applicant pays personally, the form and bank evidence should reflect it.
“Not Applicable” is not a shortcut
The online notes say that when an applicant selects Not Applicable, a reason must be provided as instructed. Do not use N/A to avoid researching an answer that actually exists.
Good explanation: “No previous Chinese visa has been issued.”
Bad explanation: “N/A” where the system asks for a reason.
Application location mistake
Select the Embassy or Consulate route according to permanent residence. A Punjab resident excluding Rawalpindi should not casually submit under Karachi because a travel agent is located there.
Submission mistakes
- Saving the application but not submitting it
- Failing to click Submit on the final PAY page
- Ignoring email correction requests
- Checking the wrong Created Date and seeing No Data
- Going to the Visa Centre before online approval
- Forgetting to print the Visa Application Certificate
- Creating multiple applications with different answers
A pre-submit audit table

Community tips that are genuinely useful
- Complete the form on a desktop rather than a small phone screen.
- Prepare all dates and addresses in a separate document first.
- Save high-quality scans before starting.
- Use the same spelling throughout.
- Check spam folders daily after submission.
- Download copies of the final form and every uploaded document.
These tips improve accuracy but do not replace official requirements.
ChinaChallo form-review service
A valuable ChinaChallo service is a two-person review: one coordinator checks the passport and personal sections; a second checks the invitation, company, travel and financial consistency. The applicant should still personally confirm every answer before submission.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the form after submission?
The online process may allow correction when the reviewer returns it, but a fully submitted older form may require a new form for changes. Follow the portal and email instructions rather than creating duplicates automatically.
Should I write my supplier contact’s name as inviter?
The current notes say to enter the inviting organization’s legal name where the inviter is a company, not the contact person as a substitute.
What happens if I made a small spelling error?
Correct it before submission. If already submitted, follow the official correction process. Small differences in key passport or company data can cause return.
