Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Alongside them, sites use local storage and session storage, which work the same way from your point of view. This page explains what ChinaChallo uses and why.

1. Strictly necessary

These make the site work. They cannot be switched off through a preference setting, because without them you cannot sign in or submit a form safely.

• Authentication. When you sign in — with a password or with Google — your session and refresh tokens are stored so you stay logged in as you move between dashboard pages. Clearing them signs you out.
• Security. Tokens that protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and counters that block automated abuse and rate-limit repeated requests.
• Load and routing. Values set by our hosting layer to route your request and keep the site available.

2. Preferences

• Theme. Whether you chose the light or dark appearance.
• Draft progress. An in-progress application form may be kept in your browser so you do not lose what you typed if the page reloads.
• Dismissed notices. So a banner or tip you closed does not reappear on every visit.

3. Analytics

Where analytics are enabled, we use them to understand which guides and pages are useful — how many people read the visa guides, where visitors drop off in the application flow. We look at this in aggregate. We do not use it to track you across other websites.

4. Third-party content

Some features are provided by others and may set their own cookies when you use them: Google (sign-in), scheduling tools used to book strategy calls, WhatsApp click-through links, and embedded video or maps. Those cookies are governed by the provider's own policy. Our privacy policy explains what data we receive from Google sign-in — it is limited to your name, email address, and profile picture.

5. How to control cookies

• Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies for a specific site — usually under Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data.
• Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in to the dashboard and may break form submission. That is a limitation of how sign-in works, not a choice on our side.
• Private or incognito windows clear everything when the window closes.
• Signing out from the dashboard clears your session tokens on that device.

6. Changes

As we add features, the cookies we use may change. This page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change with it.
